1999-2000 2001
The Hot Flashes first participated in the MS Walk in April, 2000, with a total of 4 team members, the same people who had walked the New York City Marathon in November, 1999. That MS Walk took place during a freak blizzard. I don't have a team picture of the Hot Flashes at Rye Playland (as I do for subsequent years), but here is a picture that the MS Society kindly gave me of the 2000 Rye Playland MS Walk in progress:
For history's sake, here is a picture of the same 4 Hot Flashes who did the 2000 MS Walk, taken during the 1999 New York City Marathon, at mile 25:
And here is a picture of them taken after the Marathon (it was late, and getting cold, perhaps a harbinger of the MS Walk that would follow):
